Chromatic Pedal Tuner
The D’Addario Chromatic Pedal Tuner is the first pedal tuner to bear the D’Addario name. We worked with the D’Addario team to design a tuner that would stand out in a crowded marketplace. The vertically-oriented display allows for much larger on-screen tuning graphics. The angled top surface puts the display at an ideal viewing angle and also makes the foot switch easier to press.
Concept Direction
The pedal tuner market has been dominated by the "big guys" Boss, Korg and TC Electronic. D'Addario needed a modern design aesthetic that would set them apart from the competing products in the market. Special attention was paid to materials, finishes and logo treatments.
Mechanical Design
Having settled on a clear concept direction, we were responsible for placing all of the major internal components. We devised an assembly strategy that would make the product simple to manufacture, and would fit into the existing manufacturing chain.
